I recommend the 'Back to Mine' series if you haven't heard of those. Close to what the DJ Kicks albums are.
I highly recommend the Everything But the Girl and Groove Armada Back to Mine CD's.

back to mine are good, but no where near dj kicks..
;)
- spendogg0
nightmares on wax is my favorite
- horton0
my recent favs..
DJ Kicks - Annie
DJ Kicks - Erlend Oye
DJ Kicks - Glimmersand Fourtet's is just kinda odd.
- horton0
Daddy-G also has a decent triphop/ downtempo Kicks.. but its pretty much 1/2 a Massive Attack mix.

Daddy G one is hot and so is the Erlend Oye. The Tiga one used to get lots of play at house parties.
Be on the look out for the new one by Henrik Schwartz. Gonna be good.

I own Erlend Oye, Annie, Tiga and Glimmers.
Think they are all brilliant, but Annie's is the best by far.
Her album, Anniemal is also worth checking out. Brilliant electro-pop.

good thread!
i got:
Kruder & Dorfmeister
Kid Loco
Rainer Trüby Trio
- Tara0
i like K+D and
stereo mc's
Annie's sounds good will check that out
i have kid loco- never really got into it
- Ramanisky20
I just felt like all the ones after K&D, Thievery & Nightmares on Wax started to sound really tooo electro-like
never really got into that particular sound/genre
the reason why I like the nightmares on wax so much is that there are tracks on there that I am familiar with and the ones I dont are just as good
but theres a sense of familiarity with those tracks
& a hiphop flavor to em'the newer ones are almost all a bit too much for me
too much Jungle/drum&bass/electro
maybe iam just picky
- Tara0
yeah but it's dj kicks- its what the artists pick. i think it shows the current music trends. but i hear ya - the electro pop sound does get old
- cotton0
i agree with Nightmares on Wax and Kemistry + Storm.
Andrea Parker is also a good one.
- histwinsiste0
erlend oye is the best dj kicks ive heard.
- Point50
I've got the DJ Kicks: Andrea Parker on. A great CD... some great dub on there
