Oregon governor signs bill legalizing dispensaries for medical marijuana
Gov. John Kitzhaber signed a bill on Wednesday giving the state authority to license, inspect and audit stores selling marijuana.Hopefully NYC and Pa. will be next!

Seattle Police Department's Hempfest Doritos a Hot Commodity on eBay
The Seattle Police have had a rocky history with the cannabis community here in Seattle, and their Doritos stunt was taken as a sign of peace and good humor. This unorthodox type of community outreach was so successful that the Hempfest Doritos are now being auctioned off on eBay for $50+ a bag. Who knew that a snack-size bag of chips could mean so much?

the whole Doritos thing is pissing me off mostly because people don't seem to realize the real motives behind it. For one the police are effectively participating in marketing/advertising for Doritos. I don't beleive this is their place.They could give away a variety of no name foods or have local healthy food but no they choose a single famous junk food brand. Also they are DELIBERATELY reinforcing a negative stereotype of pot smokers being a bunch of munchie eating stoners who eat junk food like Doritos. Basically Doritos target market as opposed to a real means of reaching out with respect towards people who might smoke pot or are a part of a certain lifestyle.
