does anyone know how to clear what's stored on the mac clipboard without actually shuttng down a program?
is this even possible?

why would you do that?

because it hogs up my ram. for example, i'm working on a 5.5x17" poster and pasting large bits of imagery causes my whole system (macbook pro, 1gb RAM) to grind to hault...
it would be nice to be able to delete files that were pasted so i can free up ram. or am i talking crazy? does this make sense?

just select something tiny and copy it

d'oh! that apple script is no longer available at that location...
i do have iclip, but i still think the clipboard stores your last copy in RAM -- or somewhere. i'm guessing based on how my machine runs like a turtle.
but copying something small is a great idea. duh!
thanks guys.
