"It too often happens to the good people."
I think, regardless of one's moral disposition, we all die ultimately.
- Crouwel0
I think, regardless of one's moral disposition, it is still very sad to see someone be taken away in the midst of life.
- Jaline0
Some say it was a suicide, or at least that she was depressed before her death:

sad news but life happens, so does death. eventually, we all die like Nairn said.
- Crouwel0
do you people say this at funerals as well?
this is so typical for this place.
always people pouring the deadly dose of rationale over a moment of mourning or sympathy.
*sigh

I was just trying to be dry, Crouwel. Don't worry - for all of us here, you are immortal.

I usually feel that way (that 'everyone dies eventually'), but not right away. I like to remember some of the things the person has done before I dwell in that territory, and what the world would actually be like without that person. But yeah, it takes me a short time to get over a death, possibly because no one really close to me has ever died.
- Jaline0
I mean, no one close to me has died *yet*...
- Nairn0
*Looks on in horror as Jaline goes on a murderous spree, hell bent on gaining an appreciation of mortality.
- Jaline0
you're first Nairn.
- Jaline0
*looks to admire Nairn's body before killing him.
*steals all of Nairn's design work to use as own

I love a good portion of Hal Hartley's films, others not so much.
I first heard of him while at SUNY Purchase ;)
This is strange and sad. she was in the first frame of 'Trust', if I remember correctly. I'll watch that again tonight in her honor.

Films like "Trust" and "The Unbearable Truth" had a deep impact on me as a teenager. It was so sad to read this.
- turosatano0
Trust is still a great film. I didn't realize at first how perfect she is in that role. She is just perfect for his deadpan style, like in the He's seen my cunt little speech. She is really beautiful in that film, in a way.
harlequino, my favorite is 'Henry Fool', I thought it was the most origina thing I had seen in my life. I can also talk about impact with that one.
- harlequino0
I liked "Henry Fool" a lot. But for some reason, "Simple Men" has always had the most resonance with me.
Ah, it's refreshing to talk Hartley. :)
I love seeing Hartley regulars pop up in things, Martin Donovan especially.
