Do any of you that use Holgas have problems getting consistent exposures? Any tips?
- kyl30
isn't that the point?
- ross0
i agree, consistance isnt really the key.
i must say however, i love my holga.

I must also add that double posting is the new non-stick pan collection.

that's the whole poitn with a holga - the light leaks give you the varied exposure.
you can spray paint the inside with FLAT black spray paint and tape the edges with electrical tape to reduce reflection and light leaks.

Spray the insides with Flat Black

if you tape and paint and hammer and saw,
it won't be a Hoga at all!
- ross0
why would you want to lose the light leaks?

alice,
stillepost vs newstoday

I transformed one of my holgas into a bulb holga. basically taking out the spring and then you just hold down the button for the length of time you want...more control on the exposure.

ross what does
"stillepost vs newstoday"
mean?

I should've explained this better. I know what the point of a Holga is. I am talking about getting bad exposures. Either way under or over exposed. To the point of having little information in your prints.

I know how to tape them, paint them, etc. Here is an interesting reference:
"Your Holga is really made for ISO 100 film in sunny conditions -- 400 film works because it has a lot of overexposure latitude, and lets you get good images when there's less light (like a mild or even fairly heavy overcast, which would underexpose ISO 100 film in that camera), but when you shoot ISO 400 in the sun, it'll give very dense negatives with normal development"

is iy under or over exposed then? all black or mainly white frames?

If you are really into Holgas, I would suggest picking up the new version.. it has some tensioners for the film, a tripod mount, bulb exposure, and both square and rectangle fittings for the film.. you'll still get lightleaks, but the overall camera is much more solid... other then that, shoot 100 speed when its bright out, 400 when its not!
