Does anyone know of a program that can help me automate some formulas?
I'm currently using Excel, and while it does the math ok, I'm still having to copy/paste/edit a bunch of cells, which leads to plenty of mistakes from user error.
I'd like to be able to create a template where I can select a variable and let it rip.
Ideas? Thanks.

you could do that with excel...couldnt you? set certain cells to have constants...have one cell give you the answer...or am i missing your question?

Yeah, to an extent, but I need to have rolling data.
Basically, I need to make something similar to a ranking system, where former and future data can be updated without me having to go through the cells manually.

yeah you can do that in excel itself.
just have your total cells read like (A1*(A2/A4)) or whatever. i used to know this shit but im sure you could google it.
use equations with cell numbers and not your actual numbers.

you might check out (if it's not beyond the scope of what you want) using some vbscript to help ya.

Yeah, that's what I've done, dne.
But say I have two variables, A and B. I want to put them together in an equation and output four results, Ax, Ay, Bx, and By. Then I want to put, say, Ay and Bx back in that inital equation and output four more results, and on and on.
With Excel I'm having to copy the data or string from one row to another, so as I accumulate results, things get quite hectic. In general, it just gets sloppy and takes a long time... and I'm prone to errors when copying.
I suck at explaining it, but trust me, Excel just isn't quite as practical for this as I'd like.
Thanks, fugged. I'm definitely not versed in that, so If I don't find something else, I'll see what I can get done... or perhaps I'll ask someone with more experience to see if its practical.
Thanks guys.
