and use it to load html content on the page.
just curious if this can be done and with what method?

i've done a little research
i assume my only options are frames or iframes.
is either a better option?

you mean you'd like to use a Flash nav to control HTML pages? Or you want to build some HTML into an otherwise Flash-only interface?
I did a Flash nav for an otherwise entirely HTML/CSS site a few years ago, but I'm not sure this is what you're talking about:

I'd like to use a flash nav to control HTML pages.
Similar to the woodlands site - only I don't want the nav to reload on each page.

i have used iframes in the past when i did this site and its worked fine >>

You can actually use an iframe over flash and do some pretty neat things. I was playing with it a while back:

Basically you just need to embed the swf with wmode=opaque and then use css and z-index to get the iframe to rise above.

you can draw the html through the flash, i'll upload an example

it's at the bottom, this is old and never went anywhere, i like it because hovering over each sections allows you to use your scroll wheel and it supports css.
casey, have you tested yours cross browser and platform?
i did flash z-indexing w/ wmode trans and it was failing in safari opera and come other releases as well.

It didnt work in Safari, never tested Opera. It was a work in progress to say the least ;)

cool, i was going to ask your secret if you had a workaround ;)
- caseyc0

We were going to require IE or Firefox ;)
