Stoopid question probably. Got an image in Photoshop that I've cut the background out of so it's transparent. How do I get that into Illustrator preserving the transparency?

.pngmake sure you flatten before printing, old RIP's have trouble with alpha channels.

i usually just drop the *.psd into my illustrator file.
and yeah, then flatten everything for print.

1. select all & goto Path Menu
2. Make Work Path - enter
3. Save Path - enter
4. Clipping Path - enter
5. Save As - .eps

flatten means to collapse all your layers and all their visual info into 1 layer.
