Other than that, they made him cry like 3x in the movie, wtf was that. Spidey doesn't cry, and for that matter he isn't that nerdy. Smart yes, but not Toby McGuire nerdy.

(May 14 07, 07:09)Actually, I think Tobey plays the part well. I mean, I always thought of Spiderman as a nerd who got lucky/cursed one day, just as many superhero stories go. But he's the nerdiest of all, which isn't even that nerdy, especially when you consider the weirdness of the emo moments. At least he wasn't completely frigid during the "emotional" moments.
Anyway, I think his personality is one reason I have never been into Spidey - even before the films came out. I could never connect with him, really.

No geralddean, this one goes to 11.
Thats 8 more shades of shit Im gonna have to endure as my GF loved the first two.
This was one of those rare movies that managed to both suck and blow and the same time.
And as for doing Christian Bale while your parents watched. Thats just not right!

that's not actually the fantasy. i'm just saying if those were the only conditions under which i could have sex with christian bale, well, it wouldn't be a dealbreaker.

(May 14 07, 08:33)Well, thank you para, I now have tea dribbling out of my nose.
Have you seen 'The Machinist'? It may ruin forever the Christian Bale fantasy... All I can say is that the man is dedicated to his career.
And he is a shit-hot Batman.
- Jaline0
I like this "ian" guy.
Actually, The Machinist only solidified Bale's magnificence to me. But I never think of him in the form of how he was in that movie. He's been pretty hot in every other project.

The only repugnant thing in the film was Katie Holmes.

agreed jaline. it was almost unbearable to watch him...but he was amazing in it.
i also liked him in equilibrium...don't know if many ppl have seen that but i highly recommend it.

the machinist didn't put me off nearly as much as patrick bateman! but i got over it.
- ian0
Yeah, Bateman was a pretty repugnant character but as usual, Bale was great.
