I am in the market for bicycles for me and my wife.
I saw a trek with an automatic tranmission, but iono if it's worth the money. http://tinyurl.com/29vx46
I love the puma one where the lock cable is integrated into the frame, but it only has one gear. http://www.puma.com/bike/pindex.…
Any suggestions?

sorry, wife is mine
you could try finding one of your own? maybe outside?
yeah, the puma one is no good without gears (and it looks small), but the lock cable thing is kinda cool...

that fuji and shwinn are pretty serious, looking nice
i am concerned tho, cause i am not that good taking street bikes off road and i got some nice trails near where i live now
i don't wanna crash like an old man or anything

those bikes aren't too serious. I'm just getting back into road biking and was shocked that an entry level good road bike is $1200.
Got both bikes for a steal @ around $1500 for both plus 10% store credit!
Now my garage is starting to look like a used bike store. 1 fixie, 1 beach cruiser, 1 mt bike, 2 road bikes. Thank god I sold my 20" BMX.

yeah man, that is what i am dreading, saving up all the monays
but yeah, good deal on those...
what is your opinion of those fancy auto transmissions?
i know a few serious bikers around here, i may hit them up to see what they think
- madirish0
auto trans = no.
although the new trek one seems to have made some progress. as a long-time pro wrench, i still feel a true shifter is better. now, better for what?- that is what you need to generally identify before looking at rides.

???identifying needs to the gretest you can forsee the useage is a good place to atart, then scan options that fit those needs, plus 20-30% more.
wait..... that sounds frightening familar to this industry.... ;)
good luck

buy a kona
kona is a good bike and will never try and get with your wife.
unlike a crouwel bike.

ha
yeah, the bianchi's are looking pretty nice from the research i been doing
i need a bike i can take in slow traffic, but still get up to speed on some asphalt trails
need to be comfortable for 8-10mi rides on occasion
also need to be light enough to carry down some stairs if i take it to work
but yeah, how does the uno gearo hold up?
and yeah, i figured no go on the auto trannies
