Anyone following the story about the 20-something who was shot in the head this morning, mowing her Pontiac into a Congress Park detected garage? Some gangster shit.

If you're looking more into suburban areas check out Green Mountain, Littleton, Centennial... and if you want to be out in the sticks check out Parker, or Ken Caryl Ranch/Morrison.
Or Longmont, Lafayette & Broomfield if you'll be in Boulder a lot.

update -
we just got back from denver and looked at a bunch of places. We checked out some places closer to downtown, but we ended up liking the Belmar area in Lakewood. It is a little out of the way, but the area is pretty nice. Lakewood seems to have some mixed opinions. I saw some of the older areas of lakewood, and can see why some people find it to be ghetto-ish.
we sorta liked the Belmar area since the places are nice, and their are plenty of grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping near by. Also, living in LA and now NYC, we were sorta looking forward to being out of the city a ways.

Thanks for bumping this thread, it makes me laugh every time. Hahahaha...

Most of the burbs down south are pretty legit. You get a lot more room for the cash. The apartment complexes are usually larger and have all of the amenities (gym, pool, office area, etc.) I work in Belmar, and I think living here would be alright, a little closer to downtown than the suburbs further south. Check out Highlands Ranch and the Denver Tech Center area...

Thanks for the info so far.
I was livign in Echo Park (LA) for 6 years before moving to NYC, so I have had my fill of "cool" and "trendy" hoods. They usually come with a price. I am pretty open to something a little more suburban.
Any thoughts?

I live washington park.. great area.. safe.. central.. 10 minute bike ride downtown on the trail.. lots of stuff to walk to like grocery stores/whole foods, bars, good restaurants, ,parks.. light rail stations.. 10 minute bike ride to cherry creek mall.. great highway access.. downtown lodo in 5 minutes.. cheaper than cherry creek.. not as sketchy as Highland.. not fan of highland's area.. most of my friends live there and it is pretty freaking lame.. 1 friend has been murdered there, 1 friend walked in on people robbing their house. 1 friend has been robbed 6 times.. !!! fancy house by the lake..all their goods taken 6 times.. my car was stolen and wrecked up the block.. they came back next week and stole all of the wheels off of it..

I live in capitol hill and I love it. I'd highly recommend you get a parking spot though.
