What's a good work chair for my ragged old man back (and please don't say Aeron).
Anyone have any suggestions? I wanna drop like $500.

$500? dear god man, that thing better come with wings and other such things that I can't think of.

I use a Mirra. Cheaper than an Aeron, and very comfortable.

I tried to buy a Vitra chair.. but they wouldn't sell me one, 'due to fire regulations'...

I agree "Mirra"

You know what's sad, yet funny at the same time. I truly want a rig like JP's in grandmas boy.

Knoll Chadwick. The arms move out wide and it's really airy.

i've wanted this for a long time:
http://dwr.com/productdetail.cfm…in the green apple color...yeah, it's over 3x what you wanted to pay...and both of us will never own it. *office space reference
'but damn it feels good to be gangsta' wanna be. doesn't it?

i just got a bunch of these: incredibly comfortable and stylish.

i put an original eames right next to it and they pretty much look the same. these are actually easier on my back. eames are very stiff. i would definitely recommend.
they also have armless version too, but no casters.
also, if you do a search for 'target online coupon codes', you can get additional 10% off.

Thanks guys, there's some good recommendations here. Going to check out the Mirra one for sure, but also intrigued by the Sguig chair.

The Sguig chair took about 4 years of development and research, [they found out men and women sit differently so the chair can be customised based on your sex] but alas I left the studio where we were working on the branding, etc, before the chair was finished so I myself have never actually sat in anything other than a prototype, which was pretty amazing... as far as task chairs go..

I used a balance ball as a chair for a while, wasn't bad. The person I borrowed it from moved so I had to give it back. Steelcase makes a decent chair too.
