the song that killed hair metal...

Good point - suggesting Nirvana. This doesn't have to be a VH1-style shit list of useless one hit wonders like Milli Vanilli.
How about some tracks by the Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Stone Roses, PJ Harvey, Verve, Sonic Youth, Beck, Cake, Meat Beat Manifesto, Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy, Ween, Amon Tobin, etc.
Love Shack was from the 80s, by the way.

least we not forget that power ballad by Bryan Adams that just wouldn't die...

god the 90's offical charts were fucking dire, especially when you had the manchester scene, nirvana (etc) and dance music all happening in a few years.
and the top 10 of 91, when it was all kicking off has roxette in there.
makes you want to weep

CARTER THE UNSTOPPABLE SEX MACHINE
"The Only Living Boy In New Cross"
"Suppose You Gave A Funeral And Nobody Came"
(thats the song, but that video seems to be dedicated to Tony Blair - lol)
