i searched but couldn't see a thread....
any decent (but not silly expensive) hotels near the camden area?
my memories of the area are usually from the interior of a pub...

There is a holiday inn smack bang in the middle of Camden...with views over the famous camden 'loch' full of dead bodies and shopping trolleys.

and no dead bodies

I've stayed at the afore mentioned Hoxton. Very comfortable and affordable. Breakfast is a bit small, otherwise very nice. Good location too.

I stayed in the Camden Lock Holiday Express... great room, cheap, fully stocked minibar, view of the lock and market... dodgy staff though, keep yer eyes peeled.
My friend tried to get a bottle of champagne delivered (over the phone) to my room on my birthday and the woman on the front desk (who could barely speak English) asked for a faxed copy of his credit card, front and back.

It was spotlessly clean though, new building, all very nice.

(Aug 6 07, 08:43)forgot to say it's good, a bit costly but well worth the medium 20-30 pound plus diff from the medium hotel for just a few days
