So I am working on my new portfolio site, slow process. Now I don't claim to be a web guy. I think I get a little brainwashed by all the stripped down, single page folio sites that are out there right now (which i like) and I get a little bogged down by this new one. Any feedback on how its looking so far? What do you guys think?
(sorry, i couldn't figure out how the hell to make this a link, ha. told you i am not a "web guy")

It looks like every other web2.0 site out there.

it's prety rough at the moment.
site design doesn't really reflect the style of your work. Try to keep a consistant style/image. Clients and employers will be interested in your work style... the bubbly green look isn't doing you any favours.
the green overpowers the work. I'd tone it down.
I can't read your logotype. Kinda defeats the purpose.
Your branding/typo page is too packed to focus on the work. add some whitespace and cull some of the work.
your layout fucks up in IE6 (still a BIG section of users).
Not sure if you have packaging and apparel yet and just haven't added it to the site, but the coming soon bothers me... fill it up or take it out.
Your work is super nice, I think you should head back to the drawing board on it and produce something up to the quality of your portfolio.
IMHO

monNom, yeah, i was thinking the same thing i just didn't want to admit it. Thanks. I'll let you know what i end up doing.

too green and too twopointoh. do some heavy editing with the styling, you don't need that much going on, the work is good.

work is kinda cool, the site is dull though - I think by changing the fonts on the Navigation could make a big difference...it feels like very stylized work dropped onto a web 2.0 template - keep moving forward with it though!

why do you have company blurb and selected clients in the contact us section?
as for the design, too dark, too much green, too many diagonal lines (one would be too much), too much web two.oh
i'm afraid that doesn't leave much to like. work is ok i suppose.

i agree with MonNom.
your site doesnt reflect your work whatsoever.
the site is very web2 with every web2 gimmick under the sun on it whereas your work classic/gritty/illustrative etc.i'd have thought a website with more "textures" on it would be a nice compliment to your work rather than web2 shiny-ness
:)

Man it's like los logos threw up in your branding/logo section, too many logos way too many, and all a bit too similar, thin it out! don't really think it needs that weird wooden looking speech bubble either! - other than that...
- skt0
heed what uncle_helv has to say. he once knew someone called paul smith...

mmm, I'm not liking this at all in comparison to your work, and you have far too much stuff in some sections. Ditch the dark grey and green too please, clubs in bloody Thurso are too fashionable to use that colour scheme anymore ;)
just make it super simple, if you're a self confessed non web guy, why bother?

Not my bag really
Too many "styles" to mention
- GT_10
The logo section is really going for quantity over quality.
A lot of those logos are dogs, but grouped together in a big ol' mess they had each other's inadequacies.
- morilla0
5-10 pieces per section.
