and I never even saw the sucker.
long story but it's some type of mail fraud involving either the property managers, security, or residents where I live.
$1122.14 down the drain. i'm too pissed to work right now.
can somebody give k0na a call because I need a professional ass-whooper.

What did you use to buy it? Maybe the Credit Card company has something that could help..wouldn't hurt to call them...
- TheBlueOne0
call me for our latest pricing.

well to make a short story long....
I gave specific directions to DHL to have the front office at our complex sign for the package. (I live in a 400+ unit complex) i've done it before with no problems.
Front office signed. Package was then supposed to be transferred to the security office for pickup and I was to notified. Again, this process usually just works. But none of that ever happened.
So either some douchbag security officer, a property manager, or a sneaky resident who sniped it have the package.
Fuck this place. I am going to move.

on the bright side I had actually given some thought to trying a mac.... that would've put me out double the amount.

Well the last person to sign for it has responsibility. Sue the building. Seems like a pretty clear cut legal argument.

you should have a lawsuit on your hands dude.
stolen property over 1k is something you should take up with the police.
to fuck with them post a flyer on the door down by where you think it was taken.
'to whom it may concern.
blah blah blah stolen laptop the police have been notified blah blah over 1k is a felony theft blah blah blah.'
make them sweat that shit out.
def call the cops though, or a lawyer. or talk to the security dudes or complex manager. if he says 'sorry, not my problem' start breaking windows for about a week straight.

(Sep 7 07, 08:51)yeah, but just notify the apts that you are thinking of involving the police.
then with a completely straight face, ask them if they've ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight..

Yeah that's pretty much my plan.
The property manager on duty this morning said to come back at 11:00 after he met with the head security dude or whatever. I know nothing will happen from that so I'm getting all my paperwork together and I'm going to give em hell. Such is the luxury when you work from home on Fridays!
Thanks for the stolen property over 1K tip. I'm gonna use that fo sho'.
I'm just pissed because I was counting on having the new computer yesterday. I have a lot of work I was going to use it for this weekend.

Bro, I think you have to at least file a report with the cops now. Worst case scenario if it goes to court they will ask why you didn't call the cops when you found it stolen, missing etc.

*cue office space printer bashing track
- TheBlueOne0
Sue them. Sue everyone. They made you hurt with their words and then your shoes fell off...
- Meeklo0
oh man, that sucks bawls.. sorry to hear that..
you said you have a meeting today? why not bring the cops to the meeting or a lawyer?
make sure they know that you are not only not going to forget what happened but you are going to insist till you get it back or the complex pays for a new one..
bastards!
- TheBlueOne0
I think some horses heads will be turning up in front of the building complex security office door within a few hours...
- nocomply0
Unfortunately no big guns to bring in today, but I'll check the market prices on ebay for some horse heads. That would be a nice touch.
My dad's not a big-ballin' attorney, but he's a lawyer nonetheless and he's got my back.
