Such a shame! She was one of Britain's few genuinely inspiring business people.
Why not take one of the multitude of useless celebrities?
*shakes fist at God

Yeah, real shame. Not my cup of tea, all that Body Shop stuff but she was quite an innovator.

Why 'RIP' and not RIP?
You do not really wish for her to rest in peace?
- Nairn0
Essentially not, I don't believe in that sort of thing. Nonetheless I felt I should adhere to the standard NT format for announcing the passing of our betters.
I do mean to convey my respect - just not via a religious vocabulary.

I wrote that with my nose in the air and my [agnostic] butler pouring a cup of Earl Grey.
Pah.

'rip' is not necessarily religion bound, spiritual; yes.

That may well be, but I'm not particularly spiritual either. Suffice to say - the phrase 'Rest in Peace' means nothing to me.
I didn't want to make a big deal about it, perhaps I shouldn't've bothered at all. Thanks for dragging it out in to the open though, this is turning into a corker of a thread!

You should at least believe in Santa Claus.
