Joshua DavisFolkert can easily walk amongst them, but having sat and thought about the above candidates for five minutes this is just designers I can think of, I've tried to think worldwide, but I'm more familiar with UK (so ignore my ingnorance) but I'm sure I could double this list tomorrow, guess what I'm trying to say is it would be an impossible task to rate a top ten, there are just too many great communicators out there!!
- Mimio0
Really? you put his work on par with Massimo Vignelli? or Bruce Mau?

(Oct 2 07, 12:32)thats comparing apples with oranges..there both very tasty but different.
- Mimio0
I'm not comparing them. I'm saying they're designers with very influential bodies of work and who have made very significant contributions to the teaching and practice of graphic design.
- uncle_helv0
NO!!!!
I was just reinforcing the point, that saying a designer is in the top ten is impossible and silly because of all the influencial people still working, Like Vignelli, Crouwel, and I haven't even mentioned the designers under the Pentagram umbrella, them guys alone would almost certainly command a high position on any kind of fantasy design list, then you've got the likes of Erik Spiekermann, Paul Mijksenaar ararrrgghhhh!!
- tank020
true.
altho i was at offf in barca when folkert had a lecture. the man has some intersting idea"s

23kon, your website is rocking 45 degree lines and looks like a refugee from 2001.
And speaking of "big clients", nice job on Burger King! Way to make the most of it!

-----GT1 - the BK site WAS from 2001 and it was only updates i was doing to that site as it states in the spiel.
and as for the rest of the design of the main layout, well thats from about 2003, i just reused it to put that site together as i liked it.
and whats wrong with 2001?!
web 1.0 was the time of creative thinking on the web and realising what it can do/espress.this web 2 pish is just making programmers rich lol.
bring back the old skool
http://dandelife.com/story/21698…ooo theres an old konspiracy on there with 45 degree corners.
