A disoriented man running in an inflatable bubble 300 miles off Miami’s coast was rescued by coast guard officials Saturday - four days after he asked them for directions to Bermuda and was advised to end his journey.
Marathon runner Reza Baluchi planned to make the estimated 1,000-mile journey in a bubble he designed, which could reach temperatures as high as 120 degrees. His only supplies were protein bars, bottled water, a GPS device and a satellite phone.
When rescued, Reza was nowhere near his intended destination, officials said.
