Just discovered this recently and might get it as a reward for myself getting a new job:

Love that watch!

im quite surprised at the results of this thread, actually...
so much talk about lack of money, expenses, designers being underpaid and ripped off and, yet all over this thread are people with panerais and rolexes and other such expensive and exquisite time pieces and 'things' (as one poster said)!
hmmmmm.... wonder what this all means...
;)

Yeah, there's a lot of expensive watches in this thread isn't there.
I currently switch between a 10 year old Seiko Kinetic, a couple of classic clean Diesels and this ugly leaving gift from the last place I worked.
I must say, those Bell & Ross watches look sublime though. I wouldn't mind one of those, failing that I'd like an Omega one of these days.

My dad has an Omega that is about 50 years old. Good stuff.
I just check prices on them Bell & Ross watches...guess I'll be sticking with the mid range for a while. $5k+ for a watch seems just a tad crazy.
Crazy, right? Damn material goods will kill ya!

i like silly watches that are hard to tell time on, and aren't worn by every person on the street...but apparently a bunch of people like watches that cost as much as a:
1. down payment on a house
2. a car
3. an organ transplantyou can call my watch collection ridiculous, but you can't call it life saving by any means.

(Nov 1 07, 18:23)i good watch doesn't lose money. it gains in value.

I'd prefer to think of a really good watch as an heirloom, something to pass on to the kids.

"here you go grandson. this was the watch i wore on my wedding day!"
*hands kid a bright orange watch made out of pvc...
"see here: it can play mp3's and video!"
hahaha. yeah, probably not the same reaction i would get if i handed him a rolex :)

I've scared a few girls away by telling them when I get them that engagement ring, for a wedding present I expect them to spend at least 1/2 as much on a watch as my wedding gift. They laugh and say yeah right... then they learn I'm only half kidding.
- RoyBoy0
hehe!
my wife still owes me an Omega Speedmaster.. that was the agreement..
a ring for a watch.. pretty fair really, she gets off alot lighter than me.

royboy,
Chopard Mille miglia, an excellent choice! my buddy has it and it's really beautiful watch.Omega is just a bit too common. I personally have no interest in buying Omega, Rolex, or Tag.
- RoyBoy0
fair enough tkmeister.
My Omega Seamaster was handed down to me by my father, its a family heirloom. As my interest in the Omega Speedmaster, it's a classic style and looks lovely on my wrist. i tried the limited edition F1 Shumacher with the carbon face. it's gorgeous!
The Chopard Mille Miglia is trully amazing! Hopefully next year...
- tkmeister0
ah, i see. omega speedmaster is classy and always timeless.
I always say shoes and watches determine men's fashion sense.
I also would love to get Chanel J12 or Cartier Roadster. Maybe I will ask my gf...
