Good morning fellas! can I get some feedback on this please:
I'm considering making more of these Surf Film video essays in the future,
I'm thinking the next one might be Endless Summer 1, or Point Break
- btw because of youtubes copyright system I had to take out about 2 minutes of footage, I must have uploaded about 8 versions until it finally passedYakuZoku
- dope!neverscared
- nice, do you listen to aint that swell? latest brainzo might be of interest to youwhere_am_i

- Thanks guys!YakuZoku
- skwiotsmith7
- love it!YakuZoku
- Thanks Yaku!skwiotsmith
- 1 is my fave. Are you using a heat gun for the originals?garbage
- Nope, but I like the idea. Right now, everything used a photograph or a scan, and then manipulated in Photoshop...skwiotsmith
- There are also lots of custom made brushes involved...many built off of other works.skwiotsmith
- I dig it, good shit.garbage
- I love that first one. It makes me want to listen to Andy Stott.CyBrainX

Another film analysis, Point Break
- Yeah nice.
Might watch that again tonight. It's been years.Horp - There’s a rifftrax version iircscarabin
- surprised they're not longer to reach for that 10 minute monetization mark. surf doesn't get much love on YT that i see, making these detailed wouldn't hurtimbecile
- Keep em coming. A true classic for sure. Watched North Shore after the last one which was fun.Squiddy
- nice editing. didn't know you had a channel. cool stuff!futurefood
- thanks guys!YakuZoku
- Great stuff, and a reminder to rewatch. This movie is deeper than most give it credit for, aka "THE SURF CRIME MOVIE"garbage

My band, Los Chatos, just released a new EP: "Vida de perros".
It's in many platforms: tidal, deezer, amazon, spotify...Here's the spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/album/4…

I've spent my summer learning more Cinema4D with a student subscription. My routine is still to produce one project every couple of days, honestly I enjoy modeling more than creating a scene. It's truly a humbling process. If you are obsessed like I am, getting the littlest of details will provide immense pleasure at a semi-retiring age. This Clinique bottle was sitting on my desk for the last couple of days, hope all y'all enjoy and hopefully I will showcase of what I've been working on soon.
- Very nice! Love your lighting.
Albeit not ideal considering the exported mesh, but if you enjoy modeling, give a try to fusion360dyspl - Very nice. I like modeling quite a bit too.CyBrainX
- dyspl, I will look into it, thank you. Even with Cinema4D, the possibilities are endless, I thought - at least before I knew about Houdini :)********
- Thanks Dean, learning something new everyday and there is always room for improvement.********
- Reminds me I want to do more with Blender.stewart
- Any of these is like half hour in Photoshop, but A+ for the effort
p.s. switch to Blendergrafician - God I hate Blender so much. Any good learning materials to suggest? Because god, I hate Blender so much.garbage
- I’d be curious to see that 30min photoshop result...dyspl
- You don't know how to create gradients in Photoshop in 30 mins?
Oh boygrafician - "a gradient"... yeah sure, that's all there is to redoing this 3d in photoshop...dyspl
- ...and "in 30 min".dyspl
- lol. Yeah I've tried Blender but for the love of me, I couldn't understand any of it. I know its versatile and all but it wasn't for me.********
- I could use tutorial on this Graf. It'll only take you have 2 minutes to film, edit and upload it.robthelad
- lol @rob.********
- @graf Oh I do. I just hate how counterintuitive everything is with Blender. Same goes for apps like Resolve and darktable.garbage
- Checking these shackles I grew up with.. looks like they read "Adobe"?garbage
- Very nice! Love your lighting.

After 10years not having a portfolio up to date, I finally gathered my work. Going through that many years of archive was draining. Some days you’re happy with it, a few days later looking back at it not anymore.... Rinse and repeat.
It took me a while but it’s at a point I’m happy with:
https://shorturl.at/hlmJM- wow ...
that’s a gorgeous portfolio you have.

I for one welcome our future AI overlords!
Nice work btw!YakuZoku - Don't these need to be stickers?CyBrainX
- Prompt?NBQ00
- Cars can go fuck themselves. We should just ride horses or walk.imbecile
- That's kind of an asinine argument. You actually should walk more and drive less.garbage

- i'm somewhat a german myselfmilfhunter
- Haha, I am somewhat German myself, too :)jagara
- it is a skill....a very very low one,,,not a very complex and educated one... more like mowing a lawn .. or riding a bike... for little children not grown ups..neverscared
- Having interacted a bit online with prompters, they treat what they 'create' like they'd spent a month painting the image with 30 years of learning behind itPhanLo
- not an asinine argument. industry needs vehicles, dipshit. this in nothing but fear of the futureimbecile
- more human beings are alive in part due to vehicles. in the future, more people will be alive in part because of ai.imbecile
- Well technically we're all gonna die because of burning fossil fuels :) But I get your point.yuekit
- "more people will be alive in part because of ai". Well, that or we're all annihilated... .Nairn
- I like, very Germanicutopian
- I mean, imbecile should be afraid because he can't even type a coherent sentence. How could he understand that prompts are going to be self-driving.garbage
- This reminds me of the logo for that agency site back in the day, I can’t remember the name I want to say buro destrukt but not sure_niko

- PhanLo23
- That's really wonderful., PhanLo! I was thinking about you and Gardener y'day as I was up a ladder installing some [crappy] shop signage locally :)Nairn
- Ah cheers Nairn, Lots of ladder action in this, knees were really sore after (signs we're getting old). Cutting the stencil for the logo was pretty epicPhanLo
- Yeah, I can imagine - I think even laser cutting that'd be a pain in the as to set up :) Do you bridge and then paint over the gaps?Nairn
- It was all so changeable onsite that we were re-adjusting artwork and adapting it on the day, always a weeee bit stressful, vinyl would have been better for defPhanLo
- I cut iit all out and then re-tape it back in so the gaps are in the right place, it's a bit more time consuming but I feel it gives a cleaner line. I just pushPhanLo
- ...the stencil as I go so there's no underspray.PhanLo
- 4 hours of cutting for 5 minutes spray. :-(PhanLo
- Do you have a laser cutter in uyru rolodex(!)? I regularly do oiled manila stencils fo outdoor artists - try and find someone local who offers that?Nairn
- Uyru? How? 'Your'.Nairn
- I should look out a laser cutter person, we know some cnc guys but it's rare we get cut stencils. Reckon a few guys I know in London would get stuff from you.PhanLo
- I probably already cut them for them ;)
I do quite a lot of work for a few people in your industry.Nairn - That looks fantasticdopepope
- Phan—you output some serious work / illustration etc weekly. The work's badass but fuck if I'm not inspired by the never-ending energy—gimmie some, brother. <3PonyBoy
- Amphetamine. It has to be amphetamine. I can't understand how, otherwise.Nairn
- Great stuff/Nice Post!stoplying
- Hey, PhanLo - would you mind sending me the vector file for the stencil design you used? I'm curious to see how I'd approach it, so that I can show you.Nairn
- If so - catch me on Discord?Nairn
- ..Not looking for work, I like to keep a separation between on and off line (!), but I think you could find someone local who could do this for you, no problemNairn

Moved everything over to an iPad Pro and Clip Studio, so my Cintiq is gathering dust. Plus I can sit at the kitchen table and work on a whim instead of spending 20 minutes setting up the laptop / tablet then another 20 minutes cursing like a cunt because the Wacom decides it doesn't want to fucking work without wiping / reinstalling the drivers.
- Cheers for posting man, I'd missed seeing your stuffPhanLo
- Ooooo so nice.Ramanisky2
- Love your style, and use of colour. iPad pro is so good, I doodle while the kids watch dumb shit on tv.slappy
- aye, the iPad Pro was a (expensive) game-changer. Their pen tech beats the absolute shit out of Wacom's clumsy and clunky fuckery.face_melter
- and the T. Monk picture at the end is another, I've been pushing for that feel for a while now, so much so that I might go back and re-do old pictures.face_melter
