Ten new scans + a corresponding "glitch" scan. All scans were created from the original art (by me), printed on a laser printer, then scanned in.

Output is 16-bit greyscale TIFs at 300dpi (9,600 x 12,6000px canvas). Drop me a line if you use them for something!

    • i said shut up, you stupid fuck. no one asked for your input or critique.imbecile
    • Couldn't get registration to work via code but have now got a white frame around the outputs that is equal all around but varies in width slightly per output.microkorg
    • lol, very mature dialog going on here.
besides that, the images look very cool.
Code controlled means no prompt or input?
      Beeswax
    • Very nice @microkorgmort_
    • Thanks. The typographic and photographic imagery is all prompt based outputs and they are being scaled, rotated, placed randomly by code.microkorg
    • The image outputs are created in StableDiffusion using prompts with variables injected plus influence from.previous typographic work on MidJourneymicrokorg

    • I assume you're possibly generating hundreds or more and selecting what you believe to be the best?kalkal
    • Most of these were one after the other outputs. Maybe skipped a couple of not as good examples. They take about 10 seconds to render each when hitting refresh.microkorg
    • Not got the patience to go through hundreds.microkorg
    • Adding a white border is looking good. Have updated the code so there's less chance of 'star' shapes with the vectors by forcing more obtuse & reflex angles.microkorg
    • Plan to give it far more image and type assets to play with too.microkorg
    • reckon I could have a crack at something like this, not a coder but with chatgpt, or the new claude model, seems even better. it's always sucked at blendingkalkal
    • modes in python thokalkal
    • These are cool but notice how AI is good at creating abstract or deconstructed looking images like these. But try to get it to do clean, minimal layouts andyuekit
    • the results are less impressive in my experience. Not sure if that's an inherent weakness of generative AI or if it's just a product of how existing systems areyuekit
    • trained.yuekit
    • The AI being used in this process is only in the creation of the image and type assets. These are fixed jpegs/gifs.
It is the code that's doing the composition

Worked on some updates to work I'd posted earlier.
Now has a white frame around it.
I kinda like the white frame around it more than the image going to the edge of the composition.
    What do you think?

Has more image assets to work with too.

    Here's 12 consecutive outputs....

    • I like the white frame, and the compositions where there are some less busy areas. Will the final form be digital?doublespaced
    • Yes, final form will be digital. Will be available from either highlight.xyz or fxhash.xyzmicrokorg
    • These are platforms for selling generative art like this. It generates a composition on purchase (buying blind) or you can shortlist outputs for sale.microkorg
    • But i'd do the buying blind method. Makes it fun to collect. Kinda think the shortlisted outputs defies what generative art is about.microkorg

    • Ian, the image assets are dozens upon dozens of AI outputs from 'cutting room floor'. Code is choosing and positioning randomly...microkorg
    • ...and then code is also drawing random vector shapes over it using various blend modes. Also random scribbles drawn with code.microkorg
    • I load up the HTML in browser, hit refresh for a new composition. RIght click save as. These are the outputs. Hitting refresh will give infinite unique outputs.microkorg
    • I found these amazing when you first shared them and now knowing the process I'm in love with them (pls don't ban me)whatthefunk
    • Love these. What/where are you generating them?formed
    • Formed, I'm using Adobe Animate to create HTML5 Canvas. Output is an HTML page that generates the image and I can right click save the image.microkorg
    • The final artwork will likely be on highlight.xyz for sale. I'll need to change some of the code so it works on their platform.microkorg
    • are you still planning on adding print reg marks or are you taking mono's commnets as a good suggestion? (pls don't ban me)timeless
    • haha. i did try to add them using code but the code was having none of it.
i may re-try but not fussed. i like the plain white too.

H74 Book - Action Sports Section
Putting together a section from 2003-2012 on various pieces done for the Action Sports market. Wanted to mimic the old CSS catalog shirt layout, but does it work. BTW these are spreads. There will probably be 6-8 more spreads once done collecting pieces. Any thoughts?

i'm well fucking bored and been listening to Peggy's Don't Put Anything On The Bible on constant repeat for 12+ hours. buckle up, Nancy, this is live and direct out your bitch-ass pussy.

3D is still a fuck and boring as all hell but with the downtime in the office over summer I thought I would give Blender a go and see if it could potentially replace our Max / Corona workflow. if i'm going to faff about learning a new program, I might as well do it on company time and maybe help me land another job and a way out this fucking dungeon.

initial results are... inconclusive. modelling is waaaay easier, making materials is fucking S I L L Y and F O O L I S H (don't get me started on the mapping tied to the material and not the object - like, I have three objects with the same matrial and I want to adjust them independeneptdetally. can I? can I FUCK), default camera is pish without the photographer addon - yo, let's build a physical renderer but not bother with a physical camera? c'mon man - vRay for C4D had full physical cameras 10 years ago and that was made by three drunk guys in a caravan in Austria. well, that's a lie - they worked in an office.

nodes? for compositing? fuck is wrong with these people - just give me check boxes - not something that looks like a fucking mind map for a 15yo who really likes Transformers, biscuits, and Joy Division bootlegs. it's either that or saving an exr with 14000 channels. sweet Christ.

    node. wrangler.

Cycles is decent, if a little mushy in some areas - pushed through a GPU the renders fucking fly and the denoiser doesn't indiscriminately destroy small detail like an IDF cluster bomb.

anyway. I made a thing for the test.

    • Well, that was a very enjoyable Hunter S. Thompson rant. If you were using C4D and Arnold, I would recommend looking at Calder Moore's tutorials. His work is...CyBrainX

I worked on the open for the Big Sky Conference football league. The parts that I worked on are the stadium scenes. A lot of that look with the sliced up terrain made its way into the look of the broadcast package - team matchups, player profiles, etc. A co-worker built the Saturday Showdown logo. The Scripps Sports beginning was something we had previously. It was nice to have a good amount of time for this one. Last year we had way less time to create larger packages for the Golden Knights and the WNBA.

Recently, I applied for a job with a company called "Horizon" through LinkedIn. After spending hours filling out an extensive interview and questionnaire, I received an email the next day informing me that I had been hired. However, something felt off. The email included a logo for "Horizon" with the tagline "Secure Tomorrow," which, upon further investigation, turned out to be the name of the antagonist organization in the video game "Rainbow Six."

My deeper research revealed that I was actually dealing with an asshole scammer company based in India, mos-def not a legitimate employer. Realizing this, I immediately cut off communication with them.

With some extra time on my hands, I decided to turn this experience into something creative, a corporate style video for the fictional "Horizon" organization. This video is both a cautionary tale and a bit of fun, highlighting the absurdity of the situation I found myself in. It's a reminder to always research thoroughly before getting too far into a job application process and to stay vigilant against scams.

Originally i wanted to add footage of things like people getting waterboarded and maybe some other evil corporation stuff in it but I couldn't find any footage like that, I considered using a scene from Zero Dark Thirty's torture scene but I wouldn't be able to grade it so I ended up just making it look like an official corporate video. Fuckin' scammers!

I had to put together a YouTube short for a potential job, the subject didn't matter, it was a specific YouTuber editing style they were looking for.
