Question: What's the first thing an Englishman does after winning a major tournament?
Answer: Turns of his Playstation and goes to bed

I think they are very passionate when they play, but when getting interviewed they lack appropriate language to express the passion, I'd imagine they want to swear and go mental but politeness and broadcasting laws forbid them, so you just hear what they feel comfortable saying. Also in football it is a team game so blame seems easy to spread out if it is a more individual sport you have all the pressure on you, mind you listen to ronnie osullivan when he wins it's like some guys just thrown his cat into the sea.
- "it's like some guys just thrown his cat into the sea." hahahahaha – I blew snot out my nose at thatDancer

I thought Waybe Bridge was the worst player on the pitch IMO

When you listen to an athlete talk about their sport - it's absolute passion, a will to succeed and be the best in the world. I never get that from football. Just endless excuses for their poor performance, arrogance, and never, ever any degree of sportsmanship.
I hope ruby doesn't go the same way.

Yep, the FA need to be accountable for what goes on, as they employed Mclaren in the first place!
I thought the performance level of key players was terrible, Lampard has a knack of vanishing when he wears an England shirt, I didn't hear his name in the first half (and man of the match!!, I struggle to work out how and why?) thought the back four struggled and looked very nervous, through a lack of experience (a night when we needed a Carragher) and Carson, I agree with what Ian Wright said, why has it taken him this long to adress the goal keeping problem and why do it in probably the most important game? a lot of questions to answer, a sad day for English sport, although, hopefully this will bring about a new horizon and a BIG shake up in the FA and with the players, qualification is NOT a right!

True moth.. mostly..
Football stopped being fun in the 90's when weekly wages got higher than most people earn a year.

Come on, moth, there's plenty of serotonin released when you run up and down the square for three quarters. Combined with a cheering crowd must be hell of a kick.
Plus the 100K/week and trophy wives.

One of the things I find infuriating it that the FA seem to have the same problem in their set up that they did 30 odd years ago, nothing has changed. It's still and old boys network of suits that refuse to appoint any man that will rock the boat and call a spade a spade when they are in the job.
England missed out on one of the all time greats in Clough because of that and supposedly his brusk forthright attitude was the major tick in the negative column for O'Neil last year.
This is plainly a fucked up situation. With the pressure from the press and the terraces this job clearly needs the strongest of characters to be a success. The FA have got to take a look at themselves and realise that they have to think about the fact that the England manager should not be a man who is just their subordinate.
I don't mind saying that I was not cheering when England equalised last night as I think we needed to fail to have the opportunity to move forward.

I'm not taking the piss.
Footballers aren't in the game for glory or trophies. They're in it for the money.

moth sounds like a take-the-piss bot.
as for the EPL someone tell me one league outside of england where gerrard, lampy et al would stand a chance. becks made it happen for my beloved real in my equally beloved la liga - the banginest league in europe. very VERY few englishmen can measure up. if yall had a sliver of a slice of a clue how he represented in Spain last year, you'd have an idea of passion and hard work and sheer manhood.
Becks get on the ball and light a fire neath these little boys' genteel nuts. jesus.

Denmark didn't make it either
Failcup 2008 should be organized asap.

What do you expect from a team of overpaid celebrity thugs? They don't give a shit they didn't win. They'll get some time of enjoy the mansion and the celebrity wife.

I don't think the premiership is any better than italy or spain, it has a massive amount more hype telling you it is and more money too.
How many of the england squad play regular champions league football, that's every game from the start?
this is your problem, the EPL is meant to be of a high enough standard in itself to produce great players but the only ones who really r that good are the ones who are playing at a higher level in europe, learning different styles of football. Sky will tell you the rest are just as good though of course, and you will believe them as always.
