What if IE was the "Fouty" browser?
i'll bet everyone was trolling about it and saying to move to a "real" browser like Firefox...

I wonder why it's crashing your browser... safari/mac you said? I'll mention the problem with the guy behind swfaddress and to the webkit guys (safari render engine). Actually this would be the second bug report I send to webkit guys, last one was the fact that from flash you weren't able to load pages such as "?page=home", in safari you would end up getting stuff like "?page=home?page=about?page=cont... Luckily they fixed the bug.
Thanks a lot for your detailed scenario of the crash madirish, not only you stated clearly the browser/os, but also you provided the browser version you were using, that was indeed very helpful. I wish everyone in internet were as helpful as you have been here.
God bless you.

I think I've fixed the issues with Safari/IE. Could somebody check if it works fine? :S
In the end I'm just bypassing the SWFAddress if it's not Firefox/Opera. Not the best solution but Safari users should be able to browser the nav now... I hope.

Oh wait, forgot the URL so you don't have to go the the start of the thread...

Hey mrdoob
First of all great skills with papervision3D man. Very nice experiments.
On the bug thingy:
is there any particular reason that your site with swfaddress won't work on Safari/Mac?I did some of the sites with swfaddress and they are all working fine in Safari/Mac all versions

Hey doob! are you fulltime at hi-res now?
- mrdoob0
Thanks guys!
@antistatic: Yeah, the SWFAddress issue is just a bad position I am in. I want a flash nav, xml driven. Then I want to show all the experiments under the nav. So, somehow you need to load them. Loading .swf's into a .swf is a nightmare, specially if those other .swf's load external stuff (such as textures or 3dmodels).. and well, after trying jquery and an iframe for it and finding a bug on the window.height value, the solution was to use frames.
Then, SWFAddress works for changing the url of the site from within the flash. But I'm not doing just that. Everytime you select an item you have to load a html on the bottom frame and at the same time change the url. Which I think that's confusing for SWFAddress, as he is also listening for url changes, and well.. it's just annoying :)
The only solution I can see at the moment is going inside SWFAddress, understand it and do my own one so it works with the what I'm trying to do.
- yeah i guess it would be easier for swfaddress if it was all one flash movieantistatic

@Leigh: Yes.
