Been running windows on my MBP for a year now. But to be honest I have a problem.
In WINDOWS:
Can't see my firewire camera, can't connect external monitor (with RGB) unless it's my DELL, mouse is all over the place some of the time.
In OSX:
All my major software is Win so no CS2/3, my clients are all on windows, so working on OSX means another level of testing back on windows - which adds to work load (a big issue). Being a Mac, the fire wire etc seem to work OK on OSX.I'm happier in windows, although I like OSX . . .I'm mainly doing html/flash/web work and running a business so need word, ppt et al. to communicate with clients (I've found the MAC stuff doesn't work so well with the native MS software)
So, do I buy the (adobe/MS) software and go OSX all the way, or do I buy a PC notebook and ditch the MBP?
You tell me . . .

ha using a MBP for Windows!? You cereal? Go OS X all ze way.
- I know what you're thinking. It's just the software would be a massive investmentjohnny_h

I'd say go osx, but run a small, low ram version of XP in parallels or vmware. That'll let you keep your windows apps and you're only out the cost of parallels. I totally agree though that Word and PPT run great on XP but absolutely horsecrap on a Mac.

I have parallels so that wouldn't be a problem. I have 3GB RAM so should be ok running the windows apps.
I guess the big thing is a re-investment in ADOBE from PC over to OSX.

by the way, thanks for the input, it's a tough one when you're just debating on your own. You can go either way. Nice to get impartial advice on this.
