Would be possible to get a die made quite easily and most bookbinders stock sealing wax. If you asked a printed they would be able to put you in touch with a die-maker who could make you a blind that you could press into wax. There used to be a company called London Bookbinders, or Bookbinders of London, run by a slightly odd bloke called Ian. Ian Bailey I think. He could pretty much do anything like this you needed, although his whole attitude throughout your dealings with him would be that he was unsure he could be of any help to you whatsoever. I just boogled him and he's still in business:

Very useful man, in a strangely unhelpful way. Tell him Studiospooky sent you. He wont have a clue who I am mind you.- SP: I meant 'Printer'... " if you asked a Printer", not a 'Printed'Studiospooky
- Ian Bailey sounds like a procapsize

Your man Ian's literally 2 minutes walk from my front door - I've often been curious to poke my head in to that place.
Anyone know what metal they use to make seals? (or, indeed - what material? signet seal rings aren't metal fronted, are they?)
- sometimes silver and gold but the metal isn't as important as the sealing waxcapsize

I think original signet rings were always cut from a soft stone mineral... opal or jade. Seals are usually a Brass head on a hardwood staff... I'm trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about here but really don't have idea. As for Ian... he's been in the game for a long long time. He's a really interesting bloke/business but you wouldn't think to talk to him. When I worked in corporate identity design in the nineties at Newell&Sorrell and DMB&B, I used to get him to do all the brand guideline covers and final sign-off binders etc. Does a really lovely job. Can do really nice small quantity blind or blocked embossing/debossing into book covers wrapped in pretty much whatever you'd like. He'll deny it all, but trust me, he's really good.

Thanks, Sñr.Spooky. I was just asking as it's the sort of thing I'd like to try and make once I've got a workshop/studio/rubbish tip to dick around in, maybe with some of that model casting metal or something.
*vague*
- I reckon a bit of molded/carved fimo on the end of a bit of dowling would do the job...?...!...Studiospooky

If he lives near the Cally Road he's probably been killed and eaten by now.
