I'm looking for nice car images for a client's mailer. I'd prefer to use nice high quality press photos such as: http://www.e90post.com/forums/sh…
But i dont know the legal behind using press release photos. Are they just up for grabs? Anyone know any good car photography sites that are royalty free?

they are not free. no photos are "free" unless the photographer has been dead for 50 years or has stated otherwise.

Does anyone have any experience working with car photography? I have found a lot of images but the client specifically wants good quality, studio looking images. We don't have a budget for taking our own photos but we are looking for a resource to buy some.

do you want any car photos or a certain brand?
- We were looking at BMW, Benz and Land Rover for car brands but we can't be too picky if we find some other nice shots for other cars.backwords

send an email to the photographer from e90post.com. explain your postion and budget. chances are he will sell them to you.

there's this:http://www.netcarshow.com/ some images are available at 1600x1200 I'm sure if you contact them, they can get you in touch with the photographer.
otherwise if you need a particular brand, try flickr - do a search and if something usable comes up, just contact the photographer for permission/payment details.
