First one most definitely. My criticism of both of these, from my personal point of view, is that neither of them are doing anything I haven't seen a hundred times before. Each represents a generic contemprary look. The first guy is producing texbook examples of "What's cool in design", and the second guy is doing textbook examples of "What's been cool in illustration for four years already".
Neither excited or inspired me, but I personally have grown extra specially weary of the illustration style, and not so weary yet of the design style.
Is this post more than ten words long? If so, please only read the first ten words.

i agree with studiospooky.
still, i really just like how Emil seems to stay true to his style, and seems to be happy doing it every day. it's not like you see 10 different trends in his work... it seems to be his style and he's not letting go

vague, that's the sign of a bad designer/artist and a timid, scared designer/artist.
That's why no one really gives a shit about Joshua Davis anymore besides booking him to speak at a conference because he stopped surprising us.
- you complete meRandd
- Don't be complete,
It sounds so, final.Studiospooky

I get the feeling the guy who made this post is jealous of these two designers and wanted to start a thread with people arguing that nothing is original and there is too much of this kinda style of graphics... well, I'm sorry but I think both of these designers are very good, the adhemas site has been in my favourites since he launched that version of it and I'd never seen the emil one before and am not too keen on his style and think it's repetitive BUT the thing both these guys have is quality which is rare these days. I disagree completely with spooky light or whatever he's called that they are punting out a style from 4 years ago. I'd say these guys were driving a style rather than copying and the adhemas stuff at least has been around a while... more jealousy perhaps?
- people have made great responses tp this thread. yours fuckin sucks. congrats.vague

seriously vague... go back to sleep you waste of skin....

haha, I like that I might be jealous. I studiously avoid doing illustration work like that. I'd rather leave it to the four thousand others in that area of illustration and struggle on with my own humble attempts. I'm expecting you to tell me I'm shit at what I do, and that's okay, I don't have any self image that needs protecting from your pov, but shit or otherwise, I do try to avoid treading the most popular of popular paths.
No disresepct to either practitioner here, but I am entitled to express my views, and my view of that illustrator guy is that he's in the same ballpark as many other very succesful commercial artists and he just didn't show me anything I haven't seen in abundance already.
- My point being: the only thing you can deduce from my contrary point of view is merely that it is contrary to yours!Studiospooky
