Jaline,
This is two weeks in a row where we've been handed a pretty good amount of information - more than most episodes of the entire series.
So Charles Widmore is trying to find the island to possibly exploit the healing powers or whatever else. I took a different meaning from what Ben said, that "thousands will come to the island," but got out of it that maybe he's been looking for it all along for HIS own purposes.
It's still just as confusing, because now I really wonder what Ben's role is - is he protector or captor?

Okay, now that I know more people like Juliet, I will just say....
I love her...

I agree, mg. Even though Ben is probably right about Whitmore (or however you spell it), he is always after his own agenda. And that bullshit about "already" telling Locke everything he knows was a total lie, obviously. I'm sure he has a lot more secrets hiding...otherwise the show wouldn't work.

Apparently Michael and Walt will be returning in the next one.
- Jaline0
They are probably Ben's contact on the boat.

I love her more!
Isn't Widmore Penny's father?
- Cultr0
Ok so Penny is looking for the island at the same time as her father. Her father is using the picture of her and Desmond to gain trust from the survivors... he must have known Desmond to be on the island or the whole Penny ruse wouldn't have worked. Through all this Penny has no idea what her father is up to, although she must be actively searching in the same area (to show up on the video receiver in the last episode of last season). Then Desmond calls Penny from her father's boat. I just don't get this side-plot. It seems like one would figure out what the other is up to at some point.

I am hoping that Ben's contact on the boat is another time version of himself. That'd be pretty neat.
A previously posted site featured a theory on the time travel aspects of the show, some of which worked real well. If the island (up until Desmond throwing the fail safe) has been suspended in a permanent 1996 time, there could be a second Ben. He's clever enough for it.- That would be coolukit
- you just blew my mind. i need to lay downCultr
- Remember he said "you better sit down."
harlequino - It could be. I was thinking it was Michael, but yours is better. More mind-blowing.Jaline
- hah! i didn't even think about that one. i hope this turns out to be the case.jkmohr

So when was it established that the button kept the island in stasis?
Also they claimed that they had to enter and leave on the same vector or they would experience side affects (the time jumping) but wouldn't that mean that any of the survivors would fall victim to this. I guess I'm just being picky haha.

The Tempest!
Remember what I wrote about Shakespeare some 2-3 weeks ago?..
- Ramanisky20
so we find out some interesting things about Sun & Jin
and also the return of a special someone aboard the ship
didn't spoil much for those who have not seen yet ....I hope

It's a shame that they dropped the "Ben's getting a bucket of slaps form a different character" scene just after 2 episodes.

I was a bit disappointed about the "reveal." I really wanted to see an additional "Ben." It ended up on the predictable side. Especially since the actor's FRIGGING NAME has been in the opening credits since episode 1 this season.
Oh well, the show is still kicking ass lately, so I won't moan and groan too much.
Loved random chain suicide chick, haha, and the look of "WTF?!" on Sayid and Desmond's faces. For the flight recorder to show up, there really has to be a larger time travel thing going on, eh? Chances are those bodies at the bottom of the ocean consist largely of "dead others" and left overs provided by the open grave of Dharma initiativers? The time travel theory from a few weeks back proposes that at some point soon, survivors and whomever else create a giant ruse to get the plane parts into the ocean, and get it all into the ocean. I guess we'll see.
Anyone know how much time has passed since the hatch implosion until now? So from the last episode of season 2 till now. Can't be that long right? Like a couple weeks? If that's true, how in the hell did the newly resurfaced castaway sail away, hook up with a boat, and get a job?! More time travel?
- Ramanisky20
Michael is pretending to be someone else .. I think ..
he is the saboteur aboard the ship that Ben was referring to .. I thinkhahah .. I think I think I think

^ It is a very interesting question as to how that "special someone" got on the boat. It would have happened rather quickly... (and how did he avoid "losing his place in time" like the communications officer (and almost Desmond) did? I'm also doubting Ben's responsibility on faking the crash. We're constantly learning that he is much more capable than we thought he was, but that is a tall order to pull off.
And the chick that jumped off the boat... that was really strange.
And furthermore, I'm interested in seeing how the "Oceanic 6" plays out and how it is explained--since they have already been discovered as being dead.
