Why are you using frames to do a redirect? (Whats the redirect for?)
You could do a htaccess redirect that erases the browser history, so users who use the back button go where they intended, rather than getting trapped in your redirect.

or actually you can do the meta 'location replace' redirect in the page itself..

it's a ISS server - does it run .htaccess? i don't think so. the redirect page looks auto. best think is to access the domain control panel and check the url settings.

Is looks like their own server - I guess it wouldn't hurt you to call their IT technician.

I've just been given some FTP details and told upload files to the site.and now that it doesnt display they are all looking to me to find out whats wrong, when its clear (and ive told them this) its there own server and they need to get someone to look at it.

Have you tried uploading a barebones "Hello World!" index page to see what that does? If it doesn't work, time to contact the ISP (hard over Easter weekend, admittedly). If it does work ok you know the problem's with your page.
- 'ISP'? I meant the hosting company, obviously.detritus
- ive uploaded it to the public area of the ftp and it works fine?FallowDeer
- det - i think it's an in-house server. not an ISP. At least host info doesn't show up.Corvo
- OK, fair enough - it's just a test to see which side culpability lies on.detritus
- a "hello world" page is a good idea, but what about an H&A_ Alien Report page!?Corvo
- As so often, you've lost me, my friend.detritus
- ... a HA HA HA? Oh nevermind.Corvo

I've had the same issue. It's all to do with how things are configured in with the server. It's not set to take www._____.co.uk as a valid address. Call em' up, it's a quick fix.

It's not your problem but it would look good if you could solve it, innit? If as it appears they are running a company server it's probably some misconfiguration between the public access area addresses and the intranet part. for example.

ill let them know what the problem is and find out how they host the site - if they have their own server or not?again thanks for the help, I thought it was me that had done something wrong
