i thought it was a bit low.. but, i think im going to get quite alot of work from this client, with dj's and other clubs, so thought it mite be worthwhile
- Cutting that low is never the route to take, future work or not.brains
- That's fine but they will expect the same price over and over.Jnr_Madison
- < what jim saidkld
- Exactly. This a common pitfall. If you set your price too low it will come back to hurt you because they will never want to pay more.TResudek

wow, that sorta makes me weep a little.

tell me how much you would all do it for, from what ive said.. just want to see what you would all say
- Jnr_Madison0
..and you're hurting all designers when you value your skills so slow.
- akrokdesign0
i dont know what the tax rate are in the u.k, but if its 30%, then you loose 150 pounds on does 500 pounds. leaves you with 350.

How can you say its too little?
it depends on the project and on the designer.
Figure out your hour rate, (if you don't know it already)
Calculate how much it would take you to finish the entire thing, (add at least 30hs on top of that to make sure you don't go over your quote, its always better to finish under budget)Now you got a ballpark.
It all depends on your skill level, and your ability to negotiate.
Here is a rule to calculate your hour rate.
If you have a lot of work, you are too cheap.
If you have no work, get down from the horse, you are charging too much.Good luck!
- Well, just on time, I can tell it's too little.Jnr_Madison

Minimum of £2000 prolly more.

nice 1 Meeklo, sound advice

Depends a ton on what you're building into the gallery and video stuff. If i had to guess, I'd say start at US$5,000 and steeply ramp up from there.
- Which is about £2500.Jnr_Madison
- cheers. Posted at the same time.DoubleKing

$30 - $80/hr (us $) depending on yourself. Also you must have contract and brief write up and sign.
- note: this is price for print. if web & media charge little higherMisterMonk
- print for 30/hr? that's crazy talk.. i wouldn't even do production for 30/hr.antigirl
- for newbie or student you got to start somewhereMisterMonk
- Jnr_Madison0
Not like we've all not done it in the past tho :)
- DoubleKing0
2nd or triple what MisterMonk said. Particularly if you're expecting more work from this client you must get them started on paperwork early.
- Agree DK but this kid sound pretty green. Yes paperwork paper we all love to hateMisterMonk

Been there. Done it. I've worked at a place that charged flat rate $50 for business card design. $50!! AHH. Talk about de-valueing work. It's alright though, for what they produce there now, it's not worth much more than that.
- bulletfactory0
never go below $1000
- once you get steady work, thats a good rule, and each year add an extra KMeeklo
