PDFs from InDesign

Sometimes I can't figure them out. Sometimes I'll have an InDesign file that produces a 4MB Press Ready PDF and it's mostly vector and type and then I'll have a photoshop heavy Press Ready PDF and get a 1MB file. Weird.

depends how you're breaking down your images.

When exporting a PDF from InDesign "Command E" you have the ability to change your "Compression" settings. E.g. Average Download Sampling setting to 72 DPI down the entire lsit and also select "Compress Text and Line Art" you will get a very small size low-res PDF. If you increase your DPI then the screen and print quality will get better, but your file size will also increase.
