Ok so I've been developing FE for a while now.
I'm really confident in my CSS, however I want to learn JS and get all ajaxy; take it to the next level.I use it in work but sometimes have to rely on a developer to help me but I'm getting sick of asking. I've knocked up a few things, like my tea site ( http://stugoo.co.uk/maketea ), that use nifty framework like moo tools, Scriptaculous and J-query, but I always seem to do it with a fuzzy head if you know what I mean.
Is there a decent book that I can pick up and give myself a good grounding knowledge of this stuff? I want workable tutorials to get me through this plight and solid clear cut instructions. I want a starting point.
I know there are loads out there, like w3schools, that have helped me with stuff such as XSLT; but which way to go!?
Cheers.

w3schools is a good reference. i use it a lot.
the best bet with javascript is to just do it like you have been doing. borrowing others code and editting and tweaking is a great way to learn... as long as you understand if then statements and for / while loops you can do most any basic javascript programming
