This weekend I take a well deserved, long awaited and based on my recent out bursts, much needed holiday to the arts and design capital of aus.
I've got the bog standard list of streets to visit, Brunswick, Greville, Chapel etc; but am interested in the slightly more obscure things to do, see and hear.
There is some great little galleries and bars to check out, many listed in those two guides (although some, you'll find by chance wandering down the laneways).
If you're there on the Saturday - head to the Rose Street Artists Market
if you have time on sunday afternoon, 3-6pm, my cousin's band, Cookin on 3 Burners is playing at their regular spot in St. Kilda. Sick funk jazz, ...great atmosphere. check for my armo cousin behind the drums... baddest drummer i know. he plays for True Live too.
Sunday 18th May
Belgian Beer Cafe Bluestone
557 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne
Revolver Saturday night then beers/food all afternoon in St Kilda on Sunday?
Add Gertrude St to the list. Between Brunswick and Smith in Fitzroy.
