i don't wanna jinx myself, but i've been working on a refurbed G5 Quad 2Ghz for over a year and a half and (knock on wood) haven't had a problem

have purchased refurbs in the past, no issues here. they have the same warranty, and have actually undergone more strict qa than the new ones, so no real additional risk involved, just a better price!

bought a mac mini 3yr ago. no problem and downgraded, yea thats right, down rgdaed to the imac G4 dome w/ swivel screen. I'm retro :D
but yea, no problem with the refurb mac mini. waiting to do it again on a MacBook Pro jammy-jam. :)

I'm not using one now, but I've had 2 refurbished Macs before, and they were both great. No problems. They've got the same warranty, so go for it.

Yes!
You will pay less money for a beta tested product, that means less chances to get a defective computer than if would get a new one. (it there was a problem, its now fixed).Also warranty is the same as if it was new.
Somple (that means some people) don't realize that refurbished could also mean, defective/ scratched box, un opened product.
Go for it.

I got a refurbed 17" macbook pro about 18 months ago, from the refurb apple store, haven't had a problem with it. Saved me around $600 at the time.
