if your OT consists of extra $$ (which i highly doubt in our field of salaries) than cool
if your OT consists of job security, than that sucks.
what ive learned being temp to perm in the past, prolong temp as long as you possibly can. fuck benefits, with in house temp/freelance wages you can insure your entire family on cobra and still have $$ to burn.
OT as tmp = $$$ and bitches
OT as prm = -$$$ and you are the bitch

I'm working right now, I live in Seattle....and it's super sunny outside (very rare), but I love working when I'm having a good time. Sounds like your stuck with some not-so-fun work, but blast through it, then party!
- you must be doing something exciting for Microsoft!?robotron3k

Hey man, that sucks you have to work over the holiday weekend. But a good friend would understand your dilemma.
Some days you're the hammer, and some days you're the nail. It seems as if this Memorial Day weekend, you are the nail. So in your nail status, I will represent you by drinking this fine Anchor Steam Summer Ale in your honor.
Hard work and dedication are admirable qualities in a designer and a person that you should be proud of exhibiting.

Yaff – how much would you say is "regularly"? I work at least a couple hours over the wkend 1–2 times per month. Sometimes more, sometimes less. There have been a few weekends so far this year where I worked the entire weekend, pausing briefly to sleep, eat and say hi to the wife. I will say summers are a lot slower, though this year things are wacky and we're busier than usual. About 2 months ago, I was on the verge of serious burnout.
I think we might be understaffed.

ahh... your friend must understand... it is what it is. just give him the car and directions around town.
good luck with the piece and happy birthday.

If it happens regularly, leave the job.
If it happens occasionally, suck it up - it's just 'agency life', you'll get that at most places.
The shitty thing is that it's not a rush job and sounds like you've been fucked around for months.
Worth mentioning though - if you get off QBN, you might get it done by end of today.

Screw that, blow it off. Why do they need the style guides for first thing Tuesday morning?
