Does anyone have any examples of agency Development Process? We are trying to come up with a document to help our account people and other members of the teams figure out how to work through interactive jobs.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The trend to create a "design and or creative process" document is no longer a crucial component of most ad/design/interactive firms.
In the early 2000's firms created these documents to ensure clients that they had their shit together and used them to help seperate themselves from the competition.

yeah... we are a little behind.

its best to simply have milestone or sign off points for the client as this way you can track changes and bill them.

Well, i kind of agree. However, within some agencies, there are some folks, like AEs, that have no idea what the process is. And it is something clients are going to want to know. Maybe not in the kind of detailed document you're looking for, but at least in general terms.
Here's a link to a very detailed process document. It's more useful for pretty large web-based projects:

If you're looking for something more like a creative brief/project profile let me know.
- You almost need something interactive, so clients can see where its at in the process. like the pizza tracker http://www.dominos.c…joyride

- i just got a pizza from there the other day. that feature was pretty cool.nearestexit
- of course, it still took 30 minutes longer than the site indicated, but still cool.nearestexit

I'm just looking over an old production schedule doc I have. It's much more simple than what I posted but it might be more useful. It's broken out by Phases and Actions.
Phase I
• Gather Collateral
• Kick-off Meeting
• Site Map
• Wireframe
• Client Review
• Wireframe selection by ClientPhase II
• Design Demos
• Creative Review with Client
• Design Demo Revisions
• Client Sign-off
• Content DeliveryPhase III
• Programming Schedule Provided
• Beta website to Client
• Beta revisions to Client
• Final Beta to Client
• Final Website Sign-off
• Website Launch- I would warn that in my opinion, steps are missing from this list. Like QA after the launch.nearestexit
- ...but still, it's a start.nearestexit

it's all gone agile/Pete Tong...

- I like this one. Especially how it breaks client/vendor responsibilities.nearestexit
- And color-coding too!nearestexit

Even though most of us have been doing this for 10+, there still is a lot of people out there that have no idea about interactive.
The days of the comprehensive user centric engagements are behind us. People aren't oohing and aahing at the mention of "usability" and dropping 5 million for the creation of every work product you can think of. However, these things are still important and it is having enough process makes the difference in a complex project.
Most agencies break things down into the 4Ds:
- DISCOVERY - Audience Research (User Profiles/Personas), Feature Requirements
- DESIGN - Visual Design, Information Architecture (Site Map Wire Frames), Copy/Content Strategy
- DEVELOPMENT - Front-End Technology (HTML/CSS/AJAX), Flash, Back-End Development
- DEPLOYMENT - Testing, Post Launch AnalyticsI hope that helps.
