It took 3 trucks and 10 guys half a day to figure out that the poor signal strength on the modem was related to bad wiring at a box on a telephone pole 2 blocks away.

Here's a good story for you:
In college, my roommate and I had cable modem - still kind of a new technology at the time 8 years ago and customer service was sometimes a total needle-in-haystack as far as quality.
We had all kinds of problems with our service, tons of calls, confusion, etc. etc.
One day i was just fed up with it after the guy couldn't tell me what the problem was, and I just let him have it. The following, word for word, occured:
Me: Look. Every time I call here about my modem problems you guys give me a different answer. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Tech Guy: Well...
Me: You know what? I'm pretty much convinced that next to you at your desk you have a big cardboard box, and in that box are a milion strips of paper with a million different responses and answers you can give to customers. And when I call you just reach in and give me some random answer.
Tech Guy: Uh, uh, uh, sir, uhmmmmmmmm, *eyes bleed, uh...
Me (thinking to self, "he didn't find THAT in his book of scenarios!"

Wanna hear frusteration... Try searching for appartments to rent because everything near you is completely overpriced and well today is relaxation because knock on wood I may have actually found a place affordable and what I want. and 5 minutes to work. Now it's all been worth it :)

took 3 weeks to get our phoneline and adsl connected here in melbourne. inner city location. fukin crazy

and how about this one - home adsl had lots of drop outs - i call the ISP, on hold for an hour. then he tells me nothing more than what i knew (dont support macs also) and then he says a tech will come out to look at the phone line (which we dont have a phone on - just the modem). tells me that there may be a fee of $300 to fix the line.
how the fuk am i responsible for a phone line??!! i didnt crawl down it ad corrupt the codes or whatever the fuk is on it did i! it's their problem!
