The best car I ever owned was a Lada Niva 4x4. You may well mock, but if you've never been in one of those you can't really appreciate just how fantastic they are. Rock solid, utterly dependable, like a car on tarmac and a crab on rocks. They are tiny outside, massive inside and you could tow the QE2 across dry land with a thick enough rope.
I only sold mine because UK MOT and road laws changed and they couldn't pass the emissions test.

my very first car suuucked, bright yellow, not a station wagon like this one but same colour....
then the best car i've had was like this but was dark red, had sweet rims, tinted windows, and tuned like a mutherfucker.... i loved driving that car so much

1978 Honda Civic - gold. Stereo didn't work so I had a crappy boombox to play my tapes in sitting on the back seat. Best thing was that, for some odd reason, my car key could open and start 8/10 other '78 civics. Used to move other people's cars down the street just to mess with their heads.

1971 VW Superbeetle. This one's not mine, but it looks just like it after I did major bodywork and got a paintjob (used to be green like olli's Rabbit) - bought it in '95 for $300, sold it in '96 for $1800.
