This was on the PC today. Just thought it needed it's own thread.
That's just sad
the military doesn't attract the best and brightest
- which explains why they pay for college.omgitsacamera
- sure, they prey on the poor & uneducated.Antonelli
- they = recruitersAntonelli
- well yeah, because they think that an uneducated person won't have any regrets of killing the 'enemy'omgitsacamera
- And they glorify the experience of being in the military. I can't stand all those commercials...Antonelli
- They definitely target you if you come from a "bad" home too. I know ppl who were manipulated this way.Jaline
the problem is that they're trained to kill, not to occupy
i think my heart just stopped at the end. i did not want to see that.
Yay for wars and putting the dumbest Americans in charge of them. This country is fucked. Every empire falls...
I’m not going to watch this.
The problem is that they're trained to kill, live to kill and kill for the thrill.
God Bless America
Yes, it's awful that there are people in this country and in this war that would behave like that. But you cannot honestly expect a select few delinquents in the U.S. military to accurately represent the military or country as an entire entity. I guarantee you could find worse atrocities against humanity by other foreign military groups during wars such as the Vietnam War, WW2, Korean War, the list goes on. Does this lessen my view of countries like Germany, Korea or Vietnam and the humans that collectively comprise these nations? No.
And yet they wonder why insurgents blow them up.
I'm not going to watch it but from the comments it seems apt to mention that judging americans and even american soldiers by the misguided atrocities of the few is as productive as judging all arabs by the acts of those organizing suicide bombings.
wow, what a shitty view that was.
and you can't generalize all U.S. troops to be like the assholes shown here.
It could be said that the reason troops wear uniforms is that they do not represent themselves, but that they represent the army or the country whose uniform it is. In a sense they are representing America, and thereby Americans, in everything they do.
not surprising, some are forced to do 2-3 extended tours
like the clip said, they are probably going insane. wouldn't surprise me at all if this is common behavior. i feel for both sides.
lose, lose all around. way to go bushie
I agree that all Americans shouldn't be judged upon the actions of a few. But it's interesting to see the footage you wouldn't normally see on a mainstream "news & current affairs" program.
those poor people ... Imagine for 1 second what that would feel like
they certainly do not deserve that kind of treatment .... especially the kids ....
I am not surprise to see this kind of behavior! I live the US, but I was not born here, and I hear this kind of things quite often.
Maybe is a joke, or maybe is not, no matter what it's wrong.
And on another note, check this news I read today:
"Report: U.S. 'preparing the battlefield' in Iran"
