I'm working on a Pulitzer-caliber piece about over-the-counter medicines that you can get overseas but not in America.
Can anyone suggest some popular items in their home countries? I'm looking for a Japanese cure for hangovers, a Turkish migrane remedy, etc.

Thanks for the tip, mad. I don't know if that's scary or awesome.
In general, I'm not looking for ways to get around American drugs law, more like stuff that Americans might not yet know about.

I'll give you one in reverse (sorry) -
In the UK, both Pepto Bismol and Hydrocortisone cream are both "behind the counter". The pharmacists actually need to ask you questions and confirm if you're allergic to aspirin, etc... before they give it to you.
Both are sold like crazy in any Walgreens, Wal-Mart, CVS, etc... in the US.
