God & Jesus thread made me think of this.

I closed the window when I read "Bill Maher".

- Now if people here could do the same thing to threads when they see your name, all would be right with the worldlocustsloth

this looks entertaining actually... and i usually can't stand Bill Maher...
... the only thing I'm sure to expect is it will angle toward religion looking crazy as he feels religion is... crazy...
... and the man-on -the-street stuff isn't 'fair' either - kind of like Michael Moore putting people on-the-spot w/intense questions that obviously require more thought than just blurting out what's on the tip of your tongue...
... I will watch this though... and be entertained.

"the only thing I'm sure to expect is it will angle toward religion looking crazy"
Right, so he's just telling us the truth then. I see no wrong in that.

the bit about not believing in santa claus is fucking great.
- It's not a sound argument though, since god is fundamentally not bound by the same laws of time/space (because "he" isn't a man)ismith
- neither is santa!mrdobolina

- I know where Santa lives. You can't trick me.Jaline

Is Bill a real guy or is an actor wearing prosthetic make up?

Bill Maher is on the same credibility level as Penn & Teller. He's a satirist. I fully expect a film replete with generalizations, ad hominems and loads of Genetic Fallacy fun. Don't let me down, Bill... do what you do best! I mean, I can only assume that he's doing the "ALL religion and theistic belief systems are "irrational" and baseless."
- not sure why these guys get you so amped.mrdobolina
- to be fair an all knowing man in the clouds who knows your every move is pretty irrational.mrdobolina
- ad hominem. Theists do not believe in a "man in the clouds". I wouldn't believe that caricature either.teleos
- I mean some people may believe that. But that would be some kind of Man In The Clouds™ cult.
teleos - that is what children believe.mrdobolina

somewhat on topic... anybody see this yet?
- religulous is satire, this couldn't be more off-topic.mrdobolina

- Are these clips from that universally ridiculed Ben Stein vehicle?detritus
- of course it was ridiculed. There are lots of Darwinists out there with a religious commitment to their materialism.
teleos - materialistic faith.
teleos - oh and it was one of the highest grossing "political" documentaries of all time.
teleos - and as you know ridicule doesn't explain away the evidence.teleos
- ben stein is a shill.mrdobolina
- of course you're going to say that. He doesn't share your worldview or political hope.teleos
- What evidence do creationists bring to the table? All they do is ridicule Darwin.mtgentry
- What do Creationists have to do with this? And there's plenty of positive evidence from Creationists.
teleos - stein worked in the nixon administration, nuff said.mrdobolina
