the only thing i have learned in this trade that quality is never bound to an individual or organisation. the next day a completely unknown designer outside of *cough "the scene" *cough could come up with something brilliant, something inventive and perhaps even authentic.
you marvel over an achievement, not over names.
but that is just me.

weird innit? hero worship of individuals in a trade where if you're doing it right the reward, and the quality, is in the collaboration with others.

That's like most creative ventures (painting and a few others being the exception). Think about music or architecture or even photography - it is always about the best surrounding themselves with the best, about the team you assemble to work with.
That's how good companies, in any creative field, stay at the top. I recall a partner at NBBJ (large architecture firm, not always great, but they do some good work here and there) saying "I always try to hire people that are more talented than I am".

oh sweet jesus...
http://www.larissameek.com/nothing wrong with a former model becoming a designer, but what's up with the sexiness in the mugshot to "enhance" her quality?
way out of line.

The first list is all people who just design flash. Flash is like graphic design but with motion. I don't think I consider that Web design.
