Has anyone here used or know of some good environmentally aware printers for any of their projects? They don't have to only do green printing but I need to find someone knowledgeable on the subject and who offers some green services.

No matter what soy ink is used or recycled paper stock it is printed on, printing is bad for the environment, period.

Thanks captain obvious. (Nice work btw in the folio there.) I'm looking for printers who can practice more eco-friendly methods though.

These guys are building a solid reputation in the industry, they are as close to practicing what they preach then anyone if heard about.

These guys are in Canada but have Seattle and SF sales offices.
They're an incredible team to work with, nothing but best... and all about the Enviro practices.

Thanks all!

Well, if you really want to be green (and you absolutely have to print something) the best way is to use your local and closest print shop, the whole idea of shipping your prints across the country completely defeats the purpose of printing with sustainable inks and on sustainable materials. Is going to end up on a truck anyways right?
my 2 cents

I fully agree with supporting local printers but it's not always more environmentally friendly - unless they are producing the inks/paper locally. Stuff is still being transported regardless.

Also its not about printing on recyclable paper, just so you can add "we care about the planet" on size 6 on the edge of your piece, you need to think what happens beyond the user, print with the idea of avoiding the landfill in mind first, then the user, that is really GREEN.
something that once the message has been passed on to the user can be tranformed into something the user could re-use for his own benefit maybe.

less transportation = less footprint = better.
just use common sense. :-)
