I recently decided to try out a freelance job posting website called designquote.net. I'm always on the lookout for opportunities to find new work so I figured: why not?I was absolutely shocked at how undervalued the projects listed on this site were. I would NEVER take any of the projects listed at the price listed. Unbelievable.
What was more unbelievable was how many people were bidding on projects that should have been worth 5x the amount listed.
I think this site and those like it completely devalue what we do as creative professionals and are a huge wast of time.
Any other experiences like this? Is this rampant in our industry or an isolated case?

An immeadiate reaction to their site says STAY AWAY
As soon as I opened that link I clicked away – a waste of time. There is another one that is yellow and orange and equally garish.

Unfortunetly, this and outsourcing are a reality. Depressing.

I hope the companies on there that are trying to get full websites designed for $1,000+ end up with some hack shit designer who uses Frontpage to do their whole site.

Thing is I had a client that referenced this site as price comparison. I was originally insulted and shocked and told the client to go ahead with the service if they wanted some undervalued shitty work.
The only thing that perked my interest was that they had a $5000+ categroy. I was extremely skeptical but I decided to check it out.
Bad mistake.
- why so bad ????kinobe
- $5k fool - thats nothingBarry_Grant
- True enough but for smaller projects I can see them starting at $5k. I was being optimistic.
