Content still being added... could use some outside input to see if I'm doing anything stupid.
Thanks in advance!

Why is this look so different from the WVU home page? The visual hierarchy is messy. I see the contact box first...why is it positioned there? The content is weighted too much to the left. The black seems like the wrong direction to me...it needs some light.
- you mean the search box?SigDesign
- maybe simplifying the shapes will help? The rounded corner content boxes seem gratuitious.monkeyshine
- yes, sorry...search boxmonkeyshine
- I thought about doing that...SigDesign

A little too contrasty imo....hurts my eyes after a bit. Do you have to use such dark shades of blue/black? I would make the content backdrop white, also....even that light shade of blue makes it harder to read the text.

nice touch with SSP... not liking the 'WV' watermark in the upper right having the timer/counter covering it (when it appears).
the icons down below are fun, but looks totally 'clip art'. simplify.
not really into how the header bar flips downward when those sliding modules open up. i understand the transition, tho. i'd go with a dimming transition (?).
good job overall!

Ok. I am doing a lot of higher ed sites right now so take this for what its worth...I'd
- move the search box to the right and tone it down, it doesn't need to be called out so much.
- give the banner area a little more breathing room...it seems very crammed right now
- alignment: grid this up a little more. WVU logo looks randomly placed...alignment is adding to noise on page
- rethink that content space. Do you need to have three separate boxes of content? The headline text is a little horsey too
- does that right image need to fill all of that space to the right? the quality of the imagery doesn't really justify it in my eyes. What if you had one of the content sections underneath or on top? Dunno...
