The 2019 Putin calendar unveiled
Situation Room
Russian President Vladimir Putin released his annual calendar and it shows the Kremlin leader in a variety of poses, including some with animals and others without his shirt.

At the risk of receiving downvotes (innevitabe) I had a few questions for the QBN community regarding putin:
Why is this thread 90% putin love-fest? Is it bc we all know he is a ruthless murdering dictator and juxtaposing him in a positive light is humorous?
Also if Putin helped Donald Trump get elected, why is there such animosity towards each other?
Was this an error on putin's part? Is trump biting the hand that feeds him?- lol. will anyone help me answer the second portion of my question. why the animosity if putin helped trump get elected?hotroddy
- Mate, are you sure the Rus helped the orange potus get elected?OBBTKN
- The americans elected his president, they don't need help from a "villain foreign antidemocratic regime" for it...OBBTKN

90% of this thread is pro-Putin? Are we reading different threads? It's my take that there's a lot of tongue-in-cheek/ sarcastic posts, not adoration.
As for your comparison with Trump, well here I'll be in support of Putin: Putin is an agent of nationalistic pride and encouragement for a once-proud country - a 'superpower', no less! - that has been significantly diminished over the past couple of decades. Much of the blame for that diminishment lies at the foot of Western powers such as the US and UK which have continued to view thir once-powerful foe in cold war terms and have, by their Goldman-Sachs economic predation in the Yeltsin years, gutted the country's wealth, progress and ability to function and serve its people.
Putin is, for all his faults and potential criticisms, an old-guard and inherently-bred agent of promotion and hope for the Russian populace.
Trump, on the other hand, represents the worst of Western cynicism and largesse and is an utterly deplorable mendacious cancer on the values our democracies supposedly promote.
At worst, Putin is true to whatsoever you may (possibly quite rightly) challenge as being the gestalt Russian character; Trump is a cunt that any-right minded Westerner should be ashamed of.
- not sure. Is the thread you're reading titled "Putin = Hero"?hotroddy
- Ah, so the problem here is misinterpreted literalism? The fault lies in your reading, not in other's exlcamation.Nairn
- is 'misinterpreted literalism' part of the juxtaposition I was mentioning earlier? or something different?hotroddy
- and lol at "promotion and hope for the Russian populace"hotroddy
- i'm sure the LBGT agrees with you!hotroddy
- Your own country has fairly solid anti-LBGT elements too, no?Nairn
- 'misinterpreted literalism' implies that you're taking things at face value and putting sod-all consideration into the likeliood that people are taking the pissNairn
- I'm not defending trump as I know trump is as power hungry as any. Apart from their 'world views' they poses many similar characteristicshotroddy
- which is why I question the love fest for one and not the other.hotroddy
- taking a piss = humourous. Now we are talking in circles. </thread>hotroddy
- No, taking a piss = going for a wee and entirely perfunctory anyway, and I'm not sure how that's circular beyond confirmation of misinterpretation?Nairn
- LOL @ 90%
Where does this number come from? Did you count all posts?******** - ok, fine. even if it's like 50%. Just wondering where all this love is stemming from. Are you not seeing it? Or am I the only one?hotroddy
- i only check this post for putin memes, I barely read what's written here cause Im pretty sure he's only a hero for his own.********

Human capital is fleeing Russia. Since President Vladimir Putin’s ascent to the presidency, between 1.6 and 2 million Russians – out of a total population of 145 million – have left for Western democracies. This emigration sped up with Putin’s return as president in 2012, followed by a weakening economy and growing repressions. It soon began to look like a politically driven brain drain, causing increasing concern among Russian and international observers.
