More on Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican who represents Georgia’s 14th district in the new Congress.
Last week, Media Matters reported that Greene had endorsed and promoted the lie that Parkland was a “false flag” in since-deleted Facebook posts. On Wednesday, video surfaced from 2019 of Greene harassing David Hogg, a Parkland survivor turned gun-safety activist, in Washington where he was meeting with lawmakers.
WTFWTF.
This is a leader in the Republican Party. It’s not some random voter.
If Republicans don’t remove this kind of person from their party, they are endorsing her by staying silent.
If you call yourself a Republican, this is how we see you. THIS IS WHO YOU ARE. Have shame.

It looks like a coup has taken place in Myanmar after the military complained about "voter fraud" in November's election.
Aung San Suu Kyi, the first democratically elected leader in the country's history, has been arrested and TV networks have been shut down. Lots of people posting on Twitter that the internet will be cut off soon.

The Economy Does Much Better Under Democrats. Why?
G.D.P., jobs and other indicators have all risen more slowly under Republicans for nearly the past century.- and yet most still think the GOP is pro-growth/economy. They need to be know as "pro-re-distribution of wealth to the .01%, taking from the economy and givingformed

- The stock market typically does better under democrats as well. I've had people get so mad at me for pointing this out.FNP14

It's very disturbing to see authoritarianism rising around the world and people unable to stop it.
It makes you ask, what would I do in that situation and I think the sad truth is most of us would not do anything. We were just lucky enough to be born into circumstances where the pro democracy, pro liberalism side won decades or centuries before we were born.
The general instinct of people is not to stick your neck out like Alexei Navalny, Joshua Wong in HK or Parit Chiwarak in Thailand...all of whom are now facing long prison sentences.
For every one person like that millions more are just too busy with their everyday lives and will accept whatever as long as they can collect a paycheck. Too cynical/apathetic to care or even conned into actively cheering on the authoritarian side as recent events in the USA demonstrate.
- Russia or China were already practically communist co. When you say rising authoritarianism you should actually mean Turkey, Brazil, Hungary, etc.?grafician
- It's ironic you're citing liberalism...MondoMorphic
- Why ironic? I'm talking about liberalism in the basic sense of human rights, equality, freedom of press, having independent institutions in society.yuekit

- It doesn't but unlike climate there's nothing inevitable about democracy/ liberalization. History would certainly tell you that right?yuekit
