Genius is someone who creates something new
"Genius is not a constant and it does not live within. It is a wave form approaching or retreating from us all at every moment, often from an oblique and unseen trajectory. We all walk mere inches from its glow and only occasionally do we have the luck or impulse to turn, at the critical moment, in order to be illuminated by it. Genius therefore, is only the fortuitous collision of good luck, good grace, good vision and good footwork".
Professor Orbit Lesser, Genius.
Humble geniuses are becoming rarer and rarer. There are so few of us today.
anybody who does not respond to this thread....which, sadly, means I am not a genius.
The guy who made this video!
So here's my point: we are the circumstances of History. Art should be the difference between our present circumstances and what should really have happened. That's why we crack jokes all the time and humour is probably the highest form of Art.
On the other hand, it was precisely those same 2000 years that structured a bunch of road-side of blood-seeking morons into what we are now. So this is really a dead end.
Just imagine where we would be know, if it weren't for 2000 years of middle-east religious expansionism. Human knowledge has hardly 4000 years - 2000 thousand of those were dominated by a non-pagan religion, which allows no individuality but the dissolution of the Self in the Mass, hierarchies and sullen respect. I have nothing about religion itself (belief), but I was never too fond of mass production. Even so, even during the hardiest years of Messianic religions, humans have produced great works of thought and reasoning. So there's really no need for revision.
and this guy.
All of this was predicted by the ancient Greeks.
everyone's a genius blah blah blah
