Very simple yet appealing work. I really like the collages!

I love the paper work. Reminds me of Matisse.

Yes, the quantity is a little slim, but I am making stuff every day now. My son just started kindergarten so that is freeing me up to get back to what I love to do. It takes time to get in gear again, but all your feedback has been motivating. Hopefully I will be able to update the site soon and then I would love to hear from you all again.

I like your works, specially the landscapes.
I was about to say your site lacks quantity of works until I read you were raising your son and I completely saw myself in the same situation. It did happen to me having to raise my lil' kid and losing the track and spare time to do what i like to do most: painting and drawing. Keep up your interest on art!clean and minimal = nice site

Got ya! All really helpful feedback. Thank you so much for taking the time. It is great to be able to get someone else's eyes on your work. Will definitely keep your words in mind. Appreciate it!

no i don't mean realistic depth, but a trigger to drag you in the image or at least invites your eyes to move across and explore. and to me, that one (2) almost seems to lack either. so, seems rather 1 dimensional. ;]
but please, do continue. i love the windows (paint) series, the joshua tree, and the gorge is my absolute favorite. the windows photos aren't really moving me much, except for the first one..

Thanks defstro (love Portland!) and janne76. The support is appreciated as I get back into things.
Re: Sauvie Island:
1. interesting to hear that the cut off trees aren't working for you. It is funny because having them cut off was a way for me to create depth. You mentioned lack of depth earlier, so maybe that is something I need to think about more. I do like the play between the flatness of the colors and the perspective of the shapes. So, I am not really trying to create realistic depth, but I am aiming to have some contrast between the flatness of the medium and the illusion of the image. Whoa - that is a mouthful.2. I guess this like the flatness in this one and again am not aiming for realistic depth. Is this what you mean?
3. Aah... sorry to your eyeballs! :)
- typing too fast... meant "I like the flatness in the 2nd Sauvie Island collage."

Columbia Gorg is very nice...
but I don't know what to do with the collages.

sauvie island:
1. the cut off trees, foreground tend to annoy me... also too much overlap while there aren't many at the same time, ..confusing visually
2. i think i like most, but lacks depth
3. nice depth, but the colours make my eyes bleed a little :O

Joshua Tree, I like the first one most, the center tree drags you in, almost hypnotizes you, while the surrounding trees try to drag you in further... it's got this dream effect. more than the others in that series.
but that is only my opinion.

Sauvie Island? So many Portlanders on here.
Nice work.

they lack depth ofcourse... but i appreciate the colours and some of the compositions, some do lack a bit of tension though.
i haven't looked at those really well, i'll do so now..

Thanks so much, janne76. Most people seemed to be responding to the photographs so it is interesting to hear that you like the above piece as well. Really appreciate your feedback. Do you all feel the collages are as strong?

I LOVE "Columbia Gorge" !!!

Thanks redant. I really appreciate you taking the time to look through my stuff. I think you are right in that the last Sauvie Island piece is the weakest. I was a little unsure about it myself.
And thanks Mishga and killthefish for the photo comments.
